Resolved Question: Does your child get tired of new toys quickly?

Everytime I big holiday rolls around like my daughter's birthday (she is 3) or Christmas, I receive every excited and think really difficult about what I am going to receive her. I plan it out and budget for it so I can receive her some nice toys, not anything over the top, but something she will like. For instance, for her 3rd birthday 3 months ago, I got her a huge dollhouse with every the accessories, furniture, people, a car to go with it. I got every of this for a great price because I always keep my eye out for bargains. Anyway, that was her big gift and she played with it for maybe a few days and hasn't touched it since. This happens with whatever I receive her. I've decided I am going to keep it really simple this Christmas and receive her a few things, a doll, art supplies, and maybe a new snuggle pillow and that's it. I can't believe how quickly kids are sleepy of a new toy. I remember playing with the same toys for years when I was a little girl.

Resolved Question: could someone translate this to welsh?

i have been sent to wrong copy of a project as i am doing a study on language structures and they have sent me the English instead of welsh version. it will take too long to send it back. please could someone translate it? PS. not with any translation sites please as they translate incorrectly/: thanks a bunch xxx I live in rhyl. I have done some research into the history of the town and its surrounding area. i have used some information from the local library and from the most recent census (2001) to look how the town has changed and grown. Rhyl is to the east of kinmel bay and west of Prestatyn. it is located right on the coast of north wales. i t was a tiny fishing village but soon grew to be a great tourist attraction, with the multi domed pavilion, seafront arcade and funfair and the kids village which contained some fun fair rides, a few cafes and restaurants and the Apollo cinema, right on the promenade. now, the fun fair had been demolished to make way for the new ocean plaza hotel. the pavilion on the promenade was knocked down after claims that the central dome was unsafe, and was soon followed by the pier . from there the drift park that lined the sea wall went into disuse in the early 2000s and has since benn revamped. it now includes a skate park, paddling pool, mini adventure golf, a play park and a tiny performance area. further along is a much larger arena that has held the blue peter tour as well as the CBBC tour and Rhyl's possess T.R.Y (talented rhyl youth). the town itself has also developed . the precinct in the town centre holds a topshop, new look, marks and Spencer, super drug as well as numerous travel agents and bargain stores. rhyl is known for its holiday bargains and B&B's. the tourists mainly arrive from the big cities like Liverpool and Manchester, who wanted a bit of sea and sun. this was in the tardy 1800's. the town has grown dramatically since. the latest census (2001) showed that it had a population of 24,889. the railway station is convenient for people who commute to work and there are buses that run over every inch of the town as well as travelling to llandudno, prestatyn, holywell and denbigh. also rhyl is well situated for schools. there are seven schools in total. 5 primary and 2 secondary. most are catholic including ysgol mair primary and blessed edward jones secondary which stand next to each other. that's every, thanks again Please help! xxxx thank you soooooo much:D

Resolved Question: Where to find best bargains for indie albums in Bangkok & Singapore?

I live in Singapore and I truly adore indie artists such as Mindy Gledhill and Lenka. And I am going on a holiday to Bangkok for the New Year, and I wish to buy their albums there, anyone knows of any CD shops in Bangkok that sells a wide range of western indie music ? Also, is there any other good bargains in Singapore for indie albums, besides HMV and Gramophone which is rather expensive in my opinion.

Resolved Question: What's a reasonably good camera for around £100?

I adore the idea of a DSLR but obviously I can't afford one at this price... I'm looking at any nice of good quality camera, whether it's digital, Bridge, Entry Level, DSLR, second hand, etc and around £100. I mean, it's the January sales so I'm hoping for a bargain lol I'd like it to be better than my Blackberry camera which is 5 megapixels :L I want to use it for taking good quality photos of people and landscapes (mainly for holidays and going out) Okay, well, I have £900 to spend but I didn't want to spend that much on a camera I might not use every the time... :) I was going to buy the Canon 550d but I didn't want to spend that much money on it (£500) lol! So how much should I spend to receive a quite good quality camera which won't be a waste if i don't carry on with it or if i dont receive very good at photography?

Resolved Question: How ae you going to celebrate ' Labor' Day?

It's a grim joke to talk of Labor Day as a celebration of labor. Donald Kaul By Donald Kaul Ah, Labor Day, the holiday when we honor Organized Labor. You know, unions and stuff like that. Yes, there'll be picnics and speeches detailing the enormous contribution unions make to our nation's prosperity. Political candidates will extol the virtues of the American worker and… Wait minute. I think I've picked up the wrong script here. This is an old one — so 20th-century. Once upon a time, Americans celebrated the labor movement on Labor Day. But that was a long while ago, B.R. (Before Reagan). Most Americans have long since ceased viewing life through the prism of the working class. Americans are consumers first and foremost. We like to buy things. Unions, with their insistence on livable wages, pension plans, and health insurance, are an impediment to that desire. They steer up prices. I don't think that there's been a time in my life that unions have had a worse public image. Public unions have been particularly below siege. They've been forced to give ground on benefits, wages, seniority rights, and pension guarantees. In Wisconsin — home of the iconic progressive Bob La Follette — the governor has fought difficult to take away their bargaining rights. It's a grim joke, then, to talk of Labor Day as a celebration of labor. Fourth of July Lite is more like it. The Great Recession has sliced through American workers like a scythe, cutting them off at the knees. Unemployment is chronic and entrenched, having hovered around 9 percent for more than two years. Foreclosures continue apace and workers who do find jobs are getting them at significantly lower wages than their previous jobs paid. Many are losing their health insurance, and the public schools they send their kids to are being starved for funds by destitute cities and states. Republicans in Congress say the answer to every of these problems is to clip government to the bone and beyond. Old people, needy people, and young people every have to share the burden of debt reduction. No government function is so sacrosanct as to be spared the knife. Except… (walknboston / Flickr) (walknboston / Flickr) Except when it comes to taxing the well-to-do and dirty wealthy. GOP lawmakers argue that millionaires are the economy's job creators, and if they're not making money, they won't create any jobs. A reasonable argument, except for the fact that they're making money already. And where are those jobs? CEO pay at big companies soared 27 percent last year. Profits are up too. Bankers, hedge fund managers, and stock brokers are raking it in. Things are so good for the richest of the wealthy that sales of mansions costing $20 million or more are up in the Los Angeles area. The stock market performed well in the first half of the year too. Where are the jobs? Why aren't these sultans of finance and industry hiring people, lending money, and doing something for the economy? I don't know, maybe they're too busy shopping for $20 million mansions. I do know this. My dad spent his life working in tool and die factories in and around Detroit. My mom worked, on and off, in dress shops. They were able to possess their possess home, send their son to a fine university, and give him a few extra bucks when he was struggling to lift a family of his possess early in his career. My dad even had a boat that he dragged around on a trailer. When they retired, they moved to Florida. It wasn't a lavish life, but it was a good one, made possible in part by the fact he worked in a union town and a unionized industry. It's a life, I'm afraid, that isn't going to be available to lower-middle-class kids entering a non-unionized workforce today. Certainly not if Republican lawmakers have their way. Don't worry about the people in the $20 million homes however. They'll be just fine. glad (ha ha) Labor Day. Horse head? You are right it is about the workers. But then without the unions you wouldn't have that labor day, so you wouldn't receive that day off and nothing to celebrate. But no celebrations this labor day for the people not working.

Resolved Question: When it's all getting on top of you, don't you wish you could fly? A poem, will you critique or give comments?

Full Circle Dear Dee Dee, How I wish that I, could grow two wings and learn to fly. Escape the noise and every the toys, the squabbles of my feuding boys. I miss the days that we'd meet up, to chatter over steaming cups of coffee, in the town's arcade. Or munch on butties freshly made. What fun it was to bargain hunt. Both you and I were full of front, when trying on designer wear, We had no money, did we care? I picture you in your new life, the doormat's gone, you're no-ones wife. It would be great to stay with you. A holiday would suit me too. Away from those whom I adore best, but even though I need a relax, I'd miss the structure of my days, the school runs and the kids affrays. Maybe I've lost the heart to fly, it's just a pipe-dream in the sky.

Resolved Question: a question regarding the historical settling of the United States (a rant of sorts)?

Why are Native American reservations usually located on undesirable lands such as the Badlands of the Dakotas, the desert Southwest, etc? You never look Native American reservations located in very desirable lands such as the California coastline, Florida, or anywhere else favorable and very desired by many. Manhattan Island was "stolen" for a mere $24. If foreigners came onto this land seeking refuge, shouldnt the Native American be the ones to dictate where we should live? shouldnt foreigners be the ones living on reservations instead? This would be like me coming over to YOUR home, and saying "Hey, nice place youve got here...I think sick take it from you, and you can go live outside in your doghouse in the backyard." Thats really messed up. Some will argue and say that we tried to bargain with the Natives through various treaties and the like, and they simply wouldnt arrive to civil terms for discussion and instead wanted to form waring clans that rode on horses shooting arrows at cowboys weilding shotguns. Well, yes, that was indeed the "Old West", and it was indeed "Wild". ...but what about now? everyone is civilized these days...so why dont we return most of the lands that has been taken from the Natives, and let them decide where they want us to live. We should be fortunate enough to even live here as it stands alone. The whole idea of continuing to "celebrate" "Thanksgiving" annually is a total joke, ever since the peace that was initially established at the first Thanksgiving turned out to be a total lie to Native Americans everywhere. Much shame and disgust must be felt across many Native Americans that this holiday would even be celebrated at this day in age. As the tune goes "This land is your land, this land is my land"...well, every of this land used to belong to Native Americans,..yet they are nowhere mentioned in that campy tune, not to mention the unwarranted strife they had to endure at the hands of trespassing newcomers onto their sacred lands. #6...youre referring to Oklahoma? that too got taken away from them once oil was discovered there. #1 just because we conquered doesnt make it morally right. If you can take $100 from an elderly lady, doesnt mean you should do it. If you have a gun and can kill people in their possess home, doesnt mean you should do that either. in essence, thats what we done though...kill people in their possess domain, and took things that rightfully belonged to them. #2 just because some people decide to live their lives below no institute system of law, doesnt give you the right to invade them and forcebly institute your law onto their domain. keep your laws on your possess land, and leave others be. we try to place world police back then, and as still do to this day. our government's arrogance hasnt changed one bit. #3 just because some other people arrived earlier than us, and killed off some of the natives (either willingly or unwillingly) doesnt provide us with the logic to slaughter off the relax of the tribes. #4 the tribes had bows and arrows, we had advanced weaponry called guns. we cheated cause we were pusssies and didnt know how to battle like real men. besides, the tribes every basically arrived around the same time...we arrived later,...much, much, much later. #5 noticed how you put that in parentheses. in the same fashion, the word "treaty" should be listed that way too, since they every turned about to be lies on paper. #6 they have no prime land today, thats my point #7 you call global warming, environmental endangerment, pollution, and other related matters "taking care of the land"?

Resolved Question: How is fighting for Collective Bargaining not about Money? And how was it Okay for Dems to leave stalling?

The Decision Being Made. Democrats - Rights to make More Money Republicans - Freedom to make more money. Dems are so used to getting insurance and double and triple pay on holidays they don't realize that their "rights" equal "Money" Why on earth is Wealth such a bad word? And why do they deny they want more money too. No, it's just their "right" to ask for more. Don't enshrine that Socialistic "right". It's just part of that Big Brother Government mentality. They even think it's okay for the Government to spy on Facebook for Al Queada. And fund it. For what? A Facebook Plot in the States? Resolved Question: Reversing a lifetime of being overweight?

So, here's some background. At one point in time I was thin, or at least average for a child. I was 5 maybe. We moved a lot in my childhood, always lived in apartments; so not a lot of activity. My parents never taught me about nutrition, or eating in moderation. I remember going back for full plates of food at holidays, out eating every of the adults around me. I didn't even have a strawberry until I was 10- we never had fresh fruit in the home. I have always been very aware and very ashamed of my appearance. My grandma always told me I was overweight- tried bargaining with me for a few pounds (lose weight and I'll buy you this.) My dad once told me that I'm too pretty to be so fat. To clarify, I've never been over 190lbs/ size 18. I'm 5', so it is quite a lot. I once was as low as 150lbs, or a size 13. I was proud, but I was pretty much starving myself. I don't want to do that again. My doctors have every told me I'm very healthy now, but if I don't do something it could become a problem when I'm middle aged. My goal is that after my child is born (I'm due October 18), I would like to become fit. To put in into relational terms, I'd like to be anywhere from a size 8-14/ 130lbs-150lbs. If you every could give me some advice, stories, plans, anything to help me, motivate me, whatever, I will seriously appreciate it.

Resolved Question: Better time for 'bigger' purchases at bargain prices - before or after Xmas?

Better time for 'bigger' purchases at bargain prices - before or after Xmas? Two more expensive products I tend to purchase shortly - ladies epilator and a highchair for baby.budget is quite limited, but I value the quality and would rather look for a good item at sale price than buy an item I don't trust. Just thinking what is the best time to purchase them. Some people say - before Christmas, 'cos there's always so many sales and good deals at this period. Others say - after Christmas, as there will be much less shoppers after the holidays and shops will offer very competitive prices on unsold items. Both arguments are reasonable and I'm not really sure whether I should buy these things now or wait a bit.. What do you think..? It would be great if you could share your experience and thanks in advance!

Resolved Question: Visiting NYC November/December?

We are planning to visit NYC in tardy November/early December and I have a few questions about that: - We'll probably arrive on Thanksgiving Day… Will there be any ''problems'' because of the holiday, like not enough taxis, closed stores? What should we expect? - One of the main priorities is shopping… Is that a good time for shopping sales, bargains? - What about Christmas decorations, are they every on set till that date? Would adore to look Christmas tree at Rockefeller middle & similar things. - If we want to look shows like Christmas Rockettes show, should I buy tickets well in advance (right now) or will they be still available on the day of the show? - Should we expect that every attractions will be really crowded? Or the real crowd starts later in month, around Christmas and New Year? - Some other recommendations? I've been to a NYC before, but in August (2009)… I expect things will be quite different in November/December. I apologise for my bad English, I'm not a native speaker… And thank you for every your answers!

Resolved Question: Is this illegal? Should I report this?

I have a bit of a situation here and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight. I have a very important out-of-state engagement that I must attend on 04/23, which happens to be the day before Easter. I am currently a student who is a part-time associate at JCPenney and I religiously work every Saturday. Knowing this, I have a put in a time-off request for that particular Saturday off multiple times for the past 3 weeks, which is still ample notice beforehand, and yet it continues to receive rejected. I finally got in touch with my store manager via phone a little while ago to inquire the reasoning for rejection & to explain the urgency of my request and he proceeded to tell me that it was a "black out" date (which makes no sense because Easter weekend has never been a black-out holiday weekend in the 5 years I have been there). He told me that if he made an exception for me and granted my request then he would have to do it for everyone, which is understanable I guess. But after, he agreed to approve it only if I promised to "do him a favor in return" if ever needed in the future. I was desperate for the day off and agreed to the conditions, but since that phone call I have been feeling extremely uncomfortable and anxious as to what sort of favor he could possibly need from me. Just to toss it out there, he is gay so I know he wasn't implying anything innappropriate/sexual or anything of that nature...but in every seriousness I really don't believe that it is right/moral by any means that I owe him anything for approving a time-off request, I mean I technically could still be scheduled and then call-off that day anyways so what's the difference if I just receive the day off to start with? Would this situation be considered bribery/illegal and do you think it'd be a good idea to report this? I don't want to be living with this anxiety that I owe him a potential favor, yet if I refuse to do it one day, I don't want any sort of retaliation to occur against me for not keeping my end of the bargain, you know? PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance for any information you may supply me with!

Resolved Question: the great president obama or is he?

He stood by and did nothing as Iranians rebelled against their tyrannical theocratic thugocracy. He was tough on Israel and appeased Israel's enemies. He invited the Muslim brotherhood to his Cairo Speech. He appeased Putin and screwed our eastern European allies on missile defense. He sold guns to narco-terrorists in Mexico - and elsewhere. He gave taxpayer money to his political pals who ran dubious "green economy" enterprises. He's supported the union thugs - who are an integral part of the Machine, but not the average worker. He's done nothing to contain North Korea or Iran. He's stood by as clergy and 1st responders were banned from Tenth Anniversary Memorial Ceremony at Ground Zero, but he spoke out in favor of the Ground Zero Mosque. He skipped National Prayer Breakfasts, but never missed saluting any Islamic holiday. He's been increasing the regulatory regime in every key industry from energy exploration, to energy production, banking, finance, and health-care and thereby shackling entrepreneurship and hobbling our economy and slowing growth and preventing an expansion of employment. He's repeatedly lied, argued against straw men, and been hypocritical on every issue including civility, collective bargaining, tax rates and virtually everything else - proving it's been one of the most intellectually dishonest regimes of every time. By accident or on purpose - and as evidenced by the results and the state of the economy and the world, Obama has been downright awful if not bad. Either he and his comrades are the most naive and incompetent politicians of every time... or .... or they are doing exactly what they desire and getting the results they truly want. Which would make them... bad. I don't think Obama or Hillary or Reid or Schumer or Emanuel or Daley have suddenly become stupid incompetents. I think their ideology is inherently bad. And as a result of the fact that they've been in power for 3 years, and have been actualizing their awful ideology and appeasing the hideous ideology of the Islamists, we are seeing the inevitable awful effects. "BY THEIR FRUITS SHALL YOU KNOW THEM." Whether they know it or not, they have served and are serving bad.

Resolved Question: Do collective bargaining supporters fully realize what they are supporting?

Public unions don't face a single budget constraint like they do in the private sector. They just expect their union friendly public officials (also public union employees) to lift taxes. There are zero measures of profit/loss by which to gauge the public employees pay and benefits. No business in the private sector could operate like that. Now local and state budgets have entered crisis mode and the real cost of the perks negotiated in collective bargaining are coming to light. Yet, Republicans are the devil in disguise because they are trying to avoid an even bigger crisis than already exists. The left will say it's every about pay, but it's not just about pay. In Camden, NJ for example, the perks that have been negotiated through collective bargaining are ridiculous and it has nearly bankrupted that city. If fact, they are considering bankruptcy because the union will not negotiate at every. Bankruptcy is the only way to bust up the union and start over. Do you want that to happen? In Camden, a public employee gets their birthday off with holiday pay. They also receive a 4% pay differential for working the day shift, basically just showing up for work. Can you imagine........300,000 public employees, multiplied by the cost of not only a day off, but a day off with holiday pay? Do you realize that this crisis will cause many municipalities to go bankrupt and if that happens the union will be completely busted up? Do you want that? Godless, Please learn the difference between public and private unions. The private unions don't cost the taxpayer. The public union does. Apparently, none of you know the difference. Unbelievable. You guys are clueless. When benefits are added in the public union employee makes twice as much as the private sector employee.

Resolved Question: I really want my own horse, please help?? x?

hey everyone, I'm 13 and i can walk, trot, canter, and have done trotting poles and tiny jumps! I haven't been riding for that long but I'm completely horse mad and really want a horse. I know the general cost for a stable and field by me (£110 a month) and i have searched adverts on the interenet and found a horse for £250, which sounds really nice and a bargain!! I know what I'd have to do every day and every month, and I know what I'd need like; saddle, bridle, feed, vet, farrier, gear for me(which i have), halter, water pail, groom kit, etc, etc... but the only problem is, my parents, i've tried talking to my dad and everything!! I know my mum wants one too and my dad owns 2 cafe's and i know he'd be able to afford it but he just thinks its impossible and is a big thing, which i know it is but we could make it happen!! I receive really upset when i think that my cousin is going to have a horse when shes a bit older, (my auntie has said) and because its a childhood thing, like going to pony club, doing competitions, etc, you cant replace your childhood when your an adult can you? so i would really appreciate any help on how to receive round my mum and dad, plus they're argument is what happens when we go on holiday? which is a problem, but i'd want to stay home!!!! and i know loaning is an option which i will try with them :) By the way guys, i have a job at my farm, im helping out on weekends and have a lesson every week :) excuse me ALLY,thats quite affencive, but im not like that, i adore horses and am completely horse-mad, i didnt decide i just want a horse like that!!

Resolved Question: How do I convince my dad to let me get my navel pierced?

I have wanted my navel pierced ever since I was about 14 and I turned 16 last month. My mum is absolutely fine with it and she sees no reason why my dad is saying no but for some reason he refuses to let me receive it done. He did make a promise that I could receive it done if I got 6A's and 6B's in my GCSE's but as I got 3A's, 6B's and 3C's he is refusing saying "I didn't keep my side of the bargain". I honestly don't understand why he is so anti me getting it done, it's my body, it's not like a tattoo which is permenant and also it won't be on view every the time as it will mostly be covered with clothes with the exception of swimwear on holiday. Mum has tried talking to him and I really would rather he knew about me getting it done. I really don't want to wait until I'm 18 and the piercing place I want to receive it done at (I have done a lot of research into it, I know the costs, healing time and where I want it done) says I can be 16 as long as I have proof of identity. Is there any way I can convince him to let me receive it done? I have done so much research into it, and none of my friends have it done (a few people I know have had it done, but they are people such as peers at college, no one who would really influence me) so it's not as if I'm following the crowd. I'm so desperate I have even asked for it for birthday and christmas presents. Thank you for any help! The law in the UK is 16, so I am legally able to receive it done.

Resolved Question: Any recommendation for hotels in Chiang mai?

Taking my 60 year old grandma for holiday in Chiangmai. Need a recommendation of a hotel close old city/bazaar/places with buzz. She gets sleepy easily so I do not want to shuttle too much between touristic areas and hotel, so need somewhere close the old city for her noon rests while I can venture out and play; and then take her out again after her rests. Would like a place where I minimise taking tuk-tuks, as I can receive stressed easily with every the bargaining. Budget about B1000-1200/day. Appreciate some recommendations. Thanks.

Resolved Question: How many Christmas presents are too many?

So this is my wife's account and she posted a similar question but didn't give important details or answer questions about those details. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am4zG4sTj3vqc5KN8iWE9wDsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120112100822AAr5S3k For religious reasons she doesn't celebrate Christmas or any other holidays. The kids don't celebrate every the holidays and we don't do much on some of the ones we do celebrate. She will not participate at every so I have to handle everything. I'm working full time with a long term back injure so it gets to be a bit much making a big deal or doing much about every the holidays. I have decided to let Christmas be their one big holiday. So back to the original question, how many are too many. We have 2 boys that were 4.5 and 6 years old this Christmas. My wife made a huge ordeal over the number of presents but I would like to qualify what they were and what they cost. She counted christmas morning and there were over 100 presents (somewhere in the neighborhood of 120). Total cost of it every was perhaps 400$ bought bit by bit starting in Sep.. Here are some examples. About 20 very tiny lego type sets off ebay for about 1$ each. They were maybe 2"x3" plastic bags with no packaging, maybe 30-40 parts ea. and instructions. I scanned the image from the instructions, blew it up and printed it and glued it to a larger box (I was able to receive many identical boxes at work for free). In effect it was a needy mans version of buying a real lego set where you receive this nice big box with a pretty picture, and inside there is this tiny bag with a tiny number of parts (it made helped make it look like a lot to the kids though). perhaps 20 wooden thomas the train cars and engines off ebay. they were knockoffs, not real thomas and average price was below 2$ ea. They were individually wrapped. 2 big thomas wooden train style sets (again, cheap knockoffs) for 20$ ea. Many trio block sets (got them at maybe 75% or more off retail). Perhaps 2 12$ sets, 5 8$ sets, 5 5.60$ sets, 4 2.40$ sets and 4 .80$ sets. The trio sets every together was their big gift (no game systems, laptops, ride ons, or other big or expensive toys). 2 nerf guns at 16$ ea. 10$ for nerf ammo. 1600 piece Lego's (real Lego's) from walmart for 30$ a lego type block table for 15$ and a laptop type lego table for 12$ a hot wheels garage for 24$ That about covers anything over 10$ or any big groups of toys. They probably got a dozen assorted toys in the 5-10$ range. They probably got a couple of dozen more items in the couple of dollars or less range (puzzles, tiny packs of stickers, various charms off ebay, ebay knockoff mad birds etc). Fyi some of the things like the mad birds may seem expensive, but they were actually quite cheap. My strategy on ebay was to bid very low on perhaps 10-20 auctions at a time, and at best winning 1 or 2 but at very low prices. I probably bid on hundreds of auctions over months (automatic software snipe bid right at the end) to receive the wooden trains, mad birds, lego type sets dirt cheap. The kids were constantly being told, no you can not receive that toy, no you can not receive a glad meal, no we can not eat at McDonald's etc. for a couple of months before Christmas and were told it was because we were saving for a good christmas. I know its a little overboard, but its the only holiday that much effort is put into. We didn't even celebrate their birthdays till one of their friends had a birthday party, and we still only make a tiny deal out of it. I keep saying we but I mean me as she doesn't participate in any way. I also invested many hours of my time bargain hunting (checking deal sites, scouring amazon, ebay, and sites like mattel and hasbro direct, not going out shopping) to try and receive them the best I could cheap. Is it too much? To me it seems from a dollar perspective, I didn't spend more than many other people (hearing about some getting nintendo ds's and lap tops and such it seems like I spent quite a bit less than say for instance many of the parents at my work). I did invest a lot of my personal time to maximize what I got for the money (leisurly at the computer here and there over months). Statistically the average black friday shopper spent $398.62 on black friday weekend for 2011 and that's about how much I spent in total. Is she right that I am out of control and that is way too excessive? Did I spend way too much money? I should also mention, they typically don't receive big or expensive toys through out the year at every. They don't really even receive a 10$ toy but maybe a couple of times a year. They do receive a few things for birthdays now that we started celebrating them but nothing close like christmas. As far as if we can afford it, we have different ideas about budgeting that don't seem to work well together so we can not afford 400$ for anything (can afford but don't properly budget). We have nothing financed (even the car is paid for), and no credit cards but we do have substantial student load debt (they garnish 15% and take my tax returns). 400$ is a weeks take home pay on a good week. I spread the cost out over several months to minimize the impact.

Resolved Question: Best time to book a holiday for best deal?

My husband has a month of in January and we will be going to the caribbean as always. Usually we leave it until the last few weeks before booking but this year we are on a tight budget and I am wondering when is the best time to book for the best deals? We almost always go through teletext holidays and I've seen some good deals on there already. If we wait, will there be better deals or will the best deals be gone by then? I don't really know how these things work. Also can anyone recommend any other websites offering bargain holidays. I've so far not found anything better than teletext holidays.

Resolved Question: I'm looking to visit Disney World again, but how do I go about finding the best deals?

My family took my brothers, cousins and I to Disney World was when I was fourteen years old. It was also my first time ever and I loved it more than I could explain to anybody. Upon returning home, I soon found that I was obsessed with the idea of going back, and once again did when I was seventeen. It was just as magical, in fact, it was even better. I now have three young boys of my possess, aged 8, 6 and 3, and my partner and I are desperate to take Oscar, Jed and Alec there as soon as possible. But this is to be our first family holiday abroad, and we aren't totally sure on how to find bargain ticket prices, villas, etc. We also haven't been to Florida for a few years now, and would like some insight on what would be best for families with young kids to take a look at over at the Disney Parks? I never really payed attention to the tiny kids's attractions because I never had the experience of visiting there with a tiny child before. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you, Rachel

Resolved Question: english to egyptian arabic translation?

part 2 :) and yes im unhappy that I might not be able to arrive in December but I don’t think my parents will let me arrive back so soon.. it’s a lot of money and they can’t receive a holiday from work again so I don’t know if they will let me arrive by myself... I do miss you too, it’s odd because I only met you once, but ever since you messaged me the first time I found myself enjoying talking to you more and more everyday.. you are very easy to talk to and talk in a nice way.. do you remember when my mom and me left the money below the calculator for you? Hahah I thought that was really silly, sorry about that my dad likes to bargain too much sometimes but I remember he said you were a nice guy.. take some new pictures of yourself, I want to look your cute face! Is your hair longer or short now? Because when I met you it was a little long but in some of your older pictures I saw that sometimes you keep your hair very short, I think both styles look good on you.. Haha in the video of the tune you sent me they showed facebook, it reminded me of how we talk on facebook.. that is a really nice tune.. and I also adore home and trance too so I will send you new songs when I hear them, this one is a new one by david guetta you might like it, and this other tune is an older home tune from last summer but it’s one of my favourites

Resolved Question: Sticky Situations! Mentally abusive, overly strict Dad?

Hi, I sorta have a difficult and a little unique situation on my hands. So I don't quite know how to really explain it, but I'll try my best. My Dad, or rather my mom's fiance that raised me since I was a baby is really strict, and mentally abusive, even now, when im going to be 20 in a few weeks. He's mentally abusive, by teasing me about my weight and looks. Look I'm Not overly fat, maybe a little chubby if I'm being completely honest. But every single day since as long as I can remember, He calls me either Fatso, Moron, Retard, and countless other names EVERYDAY!! Ever very rarely does he call me by my actual given name. Another problem I have with dad, is never let me have much freedom, by not letting me have a cellphone, not letting me receive a allow, computer, or me go out as much as any other teenager. So strict that I've never been to a party, school dance, do any sports, pretty much no after school activities. And much less have someone arrive over (My parents were paranoid someone would steal our stuff, because we have expensive items.) I was so frustrated, I just started sneaking out my bedroom window at night to hang out with a pal that lived close. Don't receive me wrong, I wasn't a bad kid, I went to school, graduated with business honors, but I was 17 and haven't as much as gone to the mall with girlfriends. So when dad caught me on my midnight prowling,we argued for hours, but he finally agreed he should start letting up on being so strict. He start letting me hang with friends, so he started letting me stay out a few nights a week for a couple hours after school.. but it never really progressed to more time out from there. I met James, my boyfriend, 2 and a half years ago, and it was at the time dad was only letting me out a few hours at a time, but had gotten grounded for a month when Dad found out I was skipping my history class for Art class, so it put strain on every my relationships. Summer break came around (after junior year) and Dad started to realize my relationship with James was getting more serious, and he wasn't liking it at every, saying that I needed to dump him and not worry about boys until I graduate college and have a good job! Senior Year came, and I had a real big scare that I could have been pregnant. I wasn't proud of it at every, but when everything came back negative, and gotten birth control, Dad started saying every I did was go hump boys. (His way of calling me a whore) and soon that's every he would say about the subject. I turned 18, and I moved in with my boyfriend and his mom to receive away(for a month and a half). My mom started to have anxiety issues, and on top, had gotten pregnant. Living with my boyfriend and going to school at the same time was putting a real strain on his financial situation, and I was feeling real guilty, and desperate but no one was hiring, because it was January, after the holiday help, and I wasn't available full time(School). So mom begged me one more time to arrive home, and I agreed to arrive back home on the agreement, that they would give me the freedom as an adult that I should deserve, and not "a few hours after school 2 times a week" and in return, I'll arrive home, focus on school, and graduate. I kept my end of the bargain, I was passing my classes, and graduated, but even just after one day out, dad clip back my hours because he works midnights, and it leaves him sleepy to steer me home (although i always walked any other time, except they insisted on driving me when I moved back.) And by the time spring came, I was suddenly told I couldn't go to prom, because we were low on money (they kept buying baby things even though he wasn't due until September) I even had the Prom Ticket!! (Nonrefundable!) So yeah I was really upset. Soon, it was back to I was only allowed out for a few hours after school again. I graduated, and gotten a job at a local Burger King until I could receive ready for college, but that came around, and mom wanted to hold off on college, because she didn't think I'd receive any financial aid with her income, and she wasn't going to pay for college, so I agreed to wait for Spring Semester, but that didn't happen either. Last June I quit my job so I could babysit my baby brother while dad goes through his training for 6 weeks. and then I wish to receive another job and keep up to go to James prom with him, since I never got to go to mine. But this morning I got accused of going in their bedroom and turning on the fan!! and the punishment was grounding for 5 months and no Prom!! Which I didn't even do! This always happens, I receive grounded for stuff I didn't do, or even if I do it, I receive such a harsh punishment. every I want to do is pack my bags and move again, but then I wouldn't be allowed to look my family or brother. and I don't want to strain James' Financial situation. So I would adore y

Resolved Question: please am doing an assingnment can you help me english law and malaysian law i wud be happy?

QUESTION Johny wants to sell his antique car and knows that his pal, Karen will be interested in buying it. On 1 January, Johny writes and posts a letter to Karen (who is currently on holiday in Singapore) which he concludes as follows: ‘By the way, I am selling my antique car. I think it is worth RM10,000. If you are interested in buying it for RM10,000, let me know by 10 January, as I am going to sell it at an auction on that day if you do not want to buy it.’ Karen receives Johny’s letter on 3 January. On 4 January she posts a letter to Johny which includes the following statement:- “I am interested in buying the car if I could pay for it in two installments.” This letter was received by Johny on 6 January. On 4 January, John posts a second letter to Karen, in which he says:- ‘My offer to sell you my antique car for RM10,000 is withdrawn. I will sell it at auction on 10 January.’ In the meantime, Karen has second thoughts about the car and realises that it is a good bargain at RM10,000. She accordingly writes and posts a second letter to Johny on 7 January, saying:- ‘Ignore my earlier letter, I will buy the car for RM10,000 in one payment. I will contact you when I return to make arrangements to pick it up and pay you. Johny receives this letter on 10 January, but only after he has sold the car at an auction for RM8500. Karen receives Johny’s letter on 10 January, by then Johny has sold his car at the auction sale. Advise the parties as to their contractual rights in this situation.

Resolved Question: Could what happen to state workers in Wisconsin be the start of a trend that affects us all?

I'm a white collar worker in a tiny business. In a larger company I would probably be considered "management" at my level of pay and responsibility. I'm a bit conflicted and bothered by what has just happened in Wisconsin regarding collective bargaining rights for state employees. Although I've never been a union member myself, my current position in life -- I feel -- has been very much impacted by both my grandfather and dad being involved with unions and the effect that had on the upward mobility of my family. Furthermore, I think a lot of things we every take for granted -- a standard 8 hour work day, paid vacations and holidays, overtime pay, and health insurance (even on a shared cost basis) were brought about in no tiny part due to the influence of unions. Also, from a historical perspective, I think the existence of unions within our capitalist system has kept more radical movements -- such as socialism and communism -- from ever really gaining a real foothold. I would agree that public sector employees, in some places have it better than most of us. I do think that they should have to kick in for their possess health insurance and contribute some to their possess retirement plans. My dad even had to do so as a union member working in the private sector. But I'm concerned that the revoking of collective bargaining rights may be a step too far, and if allowed to stand will send a message to the corporate sector to purse the same strategies, ala President Reagan's firing of the air traffic controllers in the 1980s. Even though I'm very much a capitalist and believe in free enterprise, I think it's naive to believe that corporate America is "enlightened" enough to treat us every fairly and well, if left to its possess devices. I don't think it's out of the question that the day could arrive when we are every working as contractors, because we have no choice, and we are on our possess in terms of such matters as health insurance and retirement plans. Furthermore, what's left of the labor movement in our country could become radicalized as a result of this, at which point we're going to start having some real social problems. Looking forward to some thoughtful responses.

Resolved Question: Do you think pro collective bargaining supporters fully realize what they are supporting?

Once in office, public employee friendly candidates don't face a single budget constraint as they do in the private sector. They can just lift taxes. There are zero measures of profit/loss by which to gauge the public employees pay. No business could operate like that in the private sector. Only when local and state government budgets enter crisis mode do the real costs arrive into light. Yet, somehow, Scott Walker is the devil in disguise because he is trying to avoid an even bigger crisis than he has already. And it's not just about pay. In Camden, NJ for example, the perks that have been negotiated through collective bargaining are ridiculous and it has nearly bankrupted that city. If fact, they are considering bankruptcy because the union will not negotiate at every and bankruptcy is the only way to bust up the union and start over. In Camden, a public employee gets their birthday off with holiday pay. They also receive a 4% pay differential for working the day shift, basically just showing up for work. Can you imagine........300,000 public employees, multiplied by the cost of not only a day off, but a day off with holiday pay? Millions. This nice of stuff happens everywhere in the country, not just Camden, NJ. I keep hearing the left say that collective bargaining is not about money, but instead about union busting. Where are they getting this dishonest information? Ike, Why are you blaming just Republicans the disaster that free trade created? I am very curious. My memory serves me pretty well. Didn't Clinton push to receive China into the WTO and for free trade with them? Didn't Obama just sign a free trade deal with India? Didn't Clinton sign NAFTA? What about the Congress below Reagan? Does any Democrat they have responsibility?

Resolved Question: Resort membership cheated, now what?

Okay the story would be way too long to go into completely so I will try to keep it short. We "won" a drawing & went to a resort to look if our key fit in the slot (stupid on our part), of course when they got there part of the "win" was that we had to look around let them show us the resort, tell us every about it & then try to sell us a membership. The saleswoman was very pushy & started telling us things about the place, "you can do this here", "we have these things to do for free", blah & blah. When she figured out that we were suckers for it & partially thinking about it, she brought someone else out who told us that "this lady's husband died & she just wants someone to receive something out of this membership & so today ONLY you can have it for this price"! Okay so unhappy to say we didn't really have any time to think about it & we did it. After going home & thinking about it we realized that some of the papers that we had signed we weren't given copies of. We have since discovered a lot of the lies that we were told & when we did go up there the people were dirty & not at every nice to be around (which makes me wonder how they could afford the membership). Anyway, my husband was also laid off right after we bought it though we are still making payments. One of the things that the saleswoman told us is that when they have dinners you can arrive up there & eat for free (members), it's only for holidays, though when they started sending us the info it was $20 a person! I am really just sick of being lied to, we have only been there twice because it's usually pretty disgusting when we go & we really want out! We would never just quit paying the payments, because even though they are not honest & have no dignity we do. Is there anything that we can do? I realize that everyone out there is just as human as I am, but can anyone give me any advice at every in this situation? I am really more curious than anything. They told us that we were welcome to sell it, but no one is crazy enough to buy it (except us), we don't do things like this or make rash decisions. We were really led to believe that we were getting a good deal & if they had held up to their end of the bargain it might have been! Thanks very much in advance, and I am really sorry that this is so long!! I forgot to add that this was not a "timeshare" we can go any time that we please. That was one of the selling points for us :-/
